Worldwide Innovation
Implementation of a new datalink
Air Hamburg is delighted to announce that in partnership with Honeywell Aerospace Inc. and 328 Support Services GmbH, the introduction of a world leading avionics update for our fleet.
After two years of rigorous development and testing with our partners ALTYS Technologies and the team at EUROCONTROL, our Legacy 650 D-AHOS has been fitted with a world’s first prototype PM-CPDLC software.
This software update to the existing cockpit avionics is set to revolutionise the way that our crew can communicate with Air Traffic Control, and is the first of its kind to be installed on an Embraer business jet.
The software uses satellite mobile data links, already installed on the aircraft, to communicate with ATC with areas of poor radio coverage, such as over oceans and deserts. While this technology has been in use for some years on aircraft – the new system provides much more advanced communication possibilities than previously available to business jet aircraft.
With the certification process of this project nearly complete, and the avionics update will be rolled-out across our entire Legacy fleet of 17 aircraft. Through strong teamwork and cooperation with multiple agencies, Air Hamburg is committed to pushing boundaries of aviation technology and safety.
